June 2010 Funding/Investment/Legislation Seminar
"Looking Ahead to 2011"
(seminar program)
This year's funding seminar was held June 21 at the Sheraton Austin Hotel. The full day of training was designed specifically for city employees who are involved in the budget process or those who work with elected officials on their city's TMRS plan.

City Correspondent Certification Courses
These two-day courses give City Correspondents the knowledge and tools they need to function in partnership with TMRS. These classes are usually held at the TMRS Headquarters in Austin; the next class is planned for November 16-17, 2010. | agenda | registration form

Hotel information: We have been reserving a TMRS block of rooms at the University Doubletree and Sheraton Austin hotels for these courses (for budgeting purposes, the cost for the hotel ranges between $110 and $190 per night). We will post a map and detailed hotel info in late August.

Regional Pre-Retirement Conferences
These are free one- or two-day events designed to help employees better understand their TMRS benefits and make plans for their retirement. The programs combine TMRS speakers with experts in Social Security benefits and financial planning. They are especially useful for members eligible for or considering retirement. TMRS provides lunch.

Regional Funding Workshops
Funding workshops are designed for city finance personnel, to keep them informed of TMRS changes and plan funding options.
